It’s official. This blog now has a podcast! It took me a whole hour to edit out the ‘ums’ and I’ve had two arguments with family members who burst into my office while I was trying to record and edit, but I got there in the end.
Today, I’ve introduced myself and talked a little about my spiritual journey. Next time, I’ll be chatting to my mentor Marion Young and after that, well the world is my oyster. If you have any suggestions, please contact me and I’ll see what I can do.

My goodness, what a journey that has been. It all started last year when I took a class in podcasting with some local filmmakers. I’ve spent months researching microphones, interfaces and recording devices and finally went for the new 11″ iPadPro with the Anchor app and an Apogee 96K microphone.
The mic worked well with just me, but let’s see how it is when I conduct an interview as it only has a cardioid pattern. I know what that means now – basically, it only records sounds to the front of it, so it would be no good for say, recording a bunch of people chatting around a table. I just couldn’t get mics with omnidirectional settings to work with the iPad Pro. As long as my interviewee sits on my lap, it should work fine!
I’ve done well for a dinosaur who was born in the 1960s. I used to be just a journalist, but in the past two years I’ve set up my own PR agency, published an online course, got a handle on social media, learned how to edit video in iMovie and now I’ve added podcasting to my repertoire. Hooray for me!
