Signposts from the soul

I interviewed a psychic medium called Nicky Huntingford yesterday for the Falling Together podcast and I was interested in what she had to say about spirit guides. Apparently, we all have them, but they have terrible trouble getting through in this day and age because we are all glued to mobile devices. Guilty m’lud!

She says that moments of stillness and meditation are the key, although that doesn’t mean you’ve got to sit cross-legged for hours on end. Simply take time to slow down. Notice the birdsong. Take a few deep breaths.

Apparently, our guides don’t shout, they whisper and if we don’t pay attention, they cannot be heard. Too much busyness means you miss the signposts.

“Can you ask them for too much help?” I wondered as I have been imploring the heavens to help me find work that is right for me. Thankfully, she said that ‘no,you can’t’ because our guides love being asked for help.

Something certainly seems to have shifted for me. I have applied for several copywriting jobs and haven’t got any of them. I also sent a press release about my blog to various wellbeing and spirituality magazines and not one person opened it. I didn’t fret because I have a sense that inspiring work is coming for me.

Bits of money have landed in my bank account, nothing much to write home about, but cash seems to be flowing in as well as out, which is always a good sign. The knot of dread I experienced earlier this week has gone away and instead I feel hopeful. Everything smells lush outside, the days are getting longer and there is sunshine on the horizon (I hope).

You can listen to Nicky’s podcast here. And if you want to find out more about her, you can visit her website. She used to be a dress designer and has some interesting stories to tell about life as a psychic medium. Oh and in case you were wondering, she’s not allowed to offer up the winning lottery numbers. Obviously, I asked…
